It never ceases to amaze me how good the iPhone camera is, especially in reasonable light. There is no doubt that camera phones have changed photography. Seriously, who buys compact cameras any more? And why? Well, ok, I understand the market for a serious compact for pros and advanced amateurs. Cameras such as the Sony RX100. Or for “tough” cameras. But for most people, the camera phone is just fine. And if you take the time to do some editing with apps, then the results are beyond fine and to my eyes are very very good.
Here’s an example. I took this using the panorama feature on my iPhone 6 and then edited using Snapseed (iOS and Google Play). This was a breeze to shoot and process. Would have taken me ages on my Sony A7R and Macbook.
